Gao follows Ibn Battuta to the city of the same name, where precious resins and rare spices once converged. Spanish and Iranian saffron open as a single blend, juniper, gurjun balsam and nagarmotha form a resinous heart, and Laotian oud, amber and patchouli finish deep and dry.
