Long before Western scientists recorded it in 1836, the Nama people of Namibia were shaping tools from the iron of the Gibeon meteorite. Its perfume is gentler: neroli and Ceylon cinnamon, a powdery heart of rose and Tuscan iris, then sandalwood, tonka and vanilla.
